Where to eat on your first night

The first evening of a stay is the hardest one to plan. You have arrived, you do not yet know the streets, and you do not want a decision that takes an hour. These are five places close to our Oranienburger Straße building that we send people to, in rough order of how far you have to walk.

Downstairs

The Sixties Diner is ours. It occupies the ground floor of the Oranienburger Straße building, which makes it the shortest walk in Berlin if you are staying with us there.

Because it is our own restaurant, we can say more about it than about the others: if something is wrong with a meal, telling us is the same as telling them.

In the same building

Two Asian restaurants and an Italian one also occupy the Oranienburger Straße building. If the diner is full — and on a Friday it can be — you do not have to leave the address to eat.

A short walk away

All of them are in Mitte. Each has its own entry on our restaurants page, with a link to the venue’s own website so you can check the day’s hours yourself before you set off — hours in Berlin change with the season more than visitors expect.

One practical note

We do not take reservations on behalf of any of these places except our own. Every listing links out to the restaurant’s own site or its map page, and the booking, if there is one, happens there.
